Once an orphaned child, Jolie was taken in by a young couple -- Jane and her boyfriend Sykes, who at the time was a musician pursuing fame. Jane at times sang for Sykes' gigs in several clubs in Las Vegas, where they lived. Sykes began to drink as his career in music could no longer support the family. Over time, Sykes became excessively abusive, which consequently forced Jane to move out with Jolie to a remote home along the crimson outskirts of Nevada. Now independent, Jolie currently lives with her cat, Luna.
